Aaron Patterson

Aaron Patterson currently studies organ with Alan Morrison. He studied with Dennis Elwell from 2008 until Mr. Elwell's retirement in 2017. He is also a piano student of Dolly Krasnopolsky at Settlement Music School. 

Aaron was honored to receive first prize in the 2017 Albert Schweitzer Organ Competition (where he also received the audience prize) and the 2016 West Chester University International Organ Competition. Additionally, he is a recipient of the AGO Next Scholarship for organ studies, the Rose and Louis Kittner Scholarship (Settlement Music School, piano), and the Sounds of Philadelphia Scholarship (Settlement Music School, piano). 

Over the past few years, Aaron has attended several summer organ institutes. These include the Summer Organ Academy at the Eastman School of Music, the Organ Institute at the Oregon Bach Festival, and the Philadelphia Young Artists Organ Camp. 

Aaron's performance venues include Christ Episcopal Church in Rochester, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, and Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta. Since, 2017 he has been an Assistant Grand Court Organist at Macy's Department Store (the John Wanamaker Building) in Philadelphia, where he regularly performs recitals of around forty minute duration. He is also the organist and choir director at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in the Lawncrest Section of Philadelphia.
